We love looking at statistics and trends in marketing, so when this paper came across our digital desktops, we dug in. Listrak has put together some benchmarks and trends for retail email marketing to an opt-in customer list and we’ve designed an infographic of some of the highlights. Overall the trends are to be more personal and relevant to the recipient which is great to see, but the frequency of emails is concerning to us. Marketing isn’t about throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. It is about methodically and relevantly being in front of your customers and potential customers so your business is top of mind when they are ready to make a purchase. We believe you can do this without overloading people with superfluous messages. There are additional insights that you can see in the full paper located here.
