Earlier this year, Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) had some big goals for SEM. They wanted to show up on the first page of search results for certain keywords and phrases, and they wanted to beat their biggest competitor in SEO. They knew it would take time to win at the organic search game, so they were also willing to invest some budget in paid search to speed things up.
After an initial research and setup period, both the SEO and PPC campaigns were launched, and both focused on high-priority keywords. To improve SEO, we made suggestions for optimizing the pages on the current DFS website, developed new blogs and content that included targeted search terms, and designed a link building program that distributed their content to other websites, with links back to theirs.
In just 3 months of the SEO campaign, we created 48 authority backlinks and 80 supporting links, and we wrote and posted 5 guest blogs on authority sites—all contributing to a 28% increase in organic website traffic.
The PPC campaign saw a steady increase in clicks, impressions, and click-through-rates, while cost-per-click and cost-per-lead decreased. And the best news: Their phones began ringing.
