As such, make all decisions based primarily on what is best for the company, not what is good for you personally.

Resumes don’t tell the whole truth – hire for smarts and potential over experience.

Blow off steam inside office walls and encourage employees to do so too.

Choose your vendors carefully and treat them as friends. Trust, quality and service are just as important as price.

Don’t take on tasks you’re not good at or you don’t understand, like accounting and legal—money spent on these trained professionals is well spent.

Tell the truth even when it’s difficult or uncomfortable.

Take responsibility even if it’s not entirely your fault.

Prepare for the storm. It will come eventually. When it does, make decisions quickly and wisely.

It is actually possible to ride out a storm.

Don’t ever lose perspective—of yourself, your clients, the job, the industry.

Don’t ever stop learning.

Never miss an opportunity to laugh. As tough as this business is, it can be pretty hilarious.

Don’t listen to people who tell you three partners is too many, or that you shouldn’t go into business with friends. Choose partners you love dearly and who are your best friends—you’ll be spending more time with them than most anyone in your life.

Celebrate your successes.

See what the other two have to say:
